Direct Group’s claims division, which took charge of Geo Underwriting’s claims management a few months back, has ramped up its team of account managers.

Effective immediately, Katrina Beagan, Sam Horton, and Tracey McManus are assuming new roles in the growing unit. Horton is an internal appointment, while Beagan and McManus worked at the likes of Imperial Consultants and Endsleigh, respectively.

“These new appointments reflect the fact that DG’s growth has accelerated since becoming part of Ardonagh Group,” noted Lee Bradshaw, director of account management. “We are one of the few businesses in the claims sector that is growing and it’s important we recruit for this.

“As a result we needed to develop our account management team to support our clients. This process is ongoing, so we are keen to talk to high-calibre people who want to work in a rapidly expanding claims business.”

Last November DG chief executive Derek Coles said the move into an outsourced claims management model for some of the underwriting division was opening up new trading locations and staff opportunities.

“This will make DG’s claims division one of the largest outsourced claims functions in the UK with over 500 claims professionals,” he commented at the time.

DG claims has locations in Doncaster, Elland, and Preston.
