Employee-owned insurance group Hyperion has appointed Ian Hilder as chief actuary of its underwriting arm.
 
Hilder, the new man at DUAL International, has more than 20 years of experience in the London insurance market.
 
He most recently served as chief risk officer at Novae Group and earlier in his career, as a consulting actuary at EY and PwC.
 
Hilder said he is “delighted to join such a dynamic business at this exciting stage of its evolution.”

“High-quality actuarial processes are central to the success of any MGA; I look forward to contributing to DUAL’s future achievements,” he said.
 
“I am delighted to welcome Ian to DUAL,” said DUAL International CUO Richard Clapham, who also serves as CEO of the company’s European operations.
 
“His wealth of actuarial experience and knowledge will be invaluable in ensuring that we continue to deliver the maximum return on capital to our carriers,” he added.
