Beach & Associates has formed a specialty and wholesale platform to be led by former Integro Insurance Brokers head honchos John Sutton and Toby Humphreys.

The two, who left the Lloyd’s broker a year ago, will be joining Beach on March 19. Along with Simon Haggas, Sutton and Humphreys were founders and directors of Humphreys Haggas Sutton and Company Ltd (HHS), which was rebranded into Integro Insurance Brokers after being acquired by Integro Ltd in 2005.

“We have been flattered by a number of attractive options from broking firms and potential investors in the last year, but the opportunity presented by Beach is unique and impossible to pass up,” noted Sutton, who served as president of international operations at Integro Insurance Brokers. “Beach has a peerless reputation as a privately owned broking and advisory firm and their ambitions to further evolve in our particular areas of expertise present a tremendous opportunity.”

Meanwhile, former Integro Insurance Brokers chair Humphreys, who looks forward to joining what he described as Beach’s “first-rate” team, promises to build a specialty and wholesale unit with the same vigour and ethos for which the reinsurance brokerage is known.

“Beach is evolving rapidly as we continue building a world-class reinsurance and specialty platform,” commented Beach chief executive Grahame Millwater. “We are now committed to developing a London-based wholesale operation within Beach, which will have a broad insurance and specialty focus.”

Also coming onboard on March 19 is Haggas, although it was not outlined what position he will hold.

“We are delighted that John, Toby, and Simon, a seasoned management team with a proven track record in building and expanding independent wholesale broker operations, will be joining us to lead this effort,” said Millwater.
