Online motor insurer Geoffrey Insurance has scored an upset against industry giants Allianz, Direct Line and Hastings Direct in the Moneyfacts Consumer Awards 2017.

The company, which is part of the Markerstudy Group, took home the Best Claims Service award and was named Car Insurance Provider of the Year.

The recent consumer awards, which were judged on the feedback of 80,000 UK customers, showcased the best financial sector products available and recognised product excellence and outstanding service.

“We are delighted to have received these incredible accolades. The fact that they promote the opinion of the customer makes them priceless,” said Paul Baxter, head of direct at Geoffrey Insurance.

The latest accolade completes Geoffrey’s string of recent awards. It also follows the firm’s implementation of Pitney Bowes’ EngageOne software which uses personalised video technology to explain policy information to the customer.

Geoffrey has also been recognised by the Institute of Customer Service as one of just six organisations in the UK to have a “ServiceMark with Distinction” as well as being a Top 50 company for customer service.

“We’ve been named as a ‘Top 50 Company for Customer Service’ for three years in a row, and pride ourselves on our great service,” Baxter said.
