Global Risk Partners (GRP) has strengthened its retail broking management team with the appointment of Chris Sime as group business development director.

Sime will manage GRP’s relationships with insurer partners along with strategic sales planning and execution across the retail business. He will also look after product development.

Sime will report to GRP broking CEO Mike Bruce, who said that the latest appointment stresses the equal emphasis that the company places on organic growth in the retail division and across the rest of the business.

“Mike painted a compelling picture of the group’s ambition for the retail broking division,” Sime said. “Having made the crossover from insurer to broking, I look forward to playing my part in delivering GRP’s long term strategic aims.”

Most recently, Sime was head of sales and strategic accounts at Zurich, where he looked after PIB, Broker Network and Jelf, among others. Before joining the Swiss insurer in 2013, he also held a number of senior sales and market-facing roles at RSA from 1987.

Bruce said Sime’s experience in strategic account management will be “hugely valuable” to GRP.

“Chris is a heavy hitter and I’m delighted he has chosen to join GRP’s retail team to take the next step in his career,” he said.
