Guy Carpenter, the global reinsurance and risk advisory arm of Marsh & McLennan, has announced a newly created role to oversee its international businesses.

James Nash, currently head of the firm’s businesses in Asia Pacific, will step into the role of president, international, and will oversee all operations in Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Caribbean.

The newly created international division will aim to give clients a consistent and coordinated experience, regardless of where they deal with the firm, said Peter Hearn, president and CEO of Guy Carpenter.

“The new Guy Carpenter organisational structure reflects our commitment to delivering a high-quality and consistently compelling global client experience,” he remarked.

Nash said of the new division: “Guy Carpenter is uniquely positioned to provide strategic advice and critical services to our clients in this rapidly changing global business environment.”

Nash will continue to report to Peter Hearn, president and CEO of Guy Carpenter, and will relocate to London.

A replacement for Nash’s role in Asia Pacific will be announced in 2017.
