Horwich Farrelly has achieved its best year to date with significant financial growth, market expansion and the appointment of new business leaders.

The insurance law firm said turnover rose by 21% from £28 million in 2014-15 to £34 million in 2015-16. The company is expecting further double-digit top-line growth this year.

During the previous financial year, Horwich Farrelly also won several new major clients and saw an 18% increase in volume of instructions. The firm also continued its expansion into non-motor areas and announced several senior hires and partners.

Horwich Farrelly chairman John O’Roarke, who was installed in the role in 2016, said that the past year “presented a number of exciting opportunities for the firm.”

“2015-16 has been our most successful year yet,” he said. “As well as increasing turnover by over a fifth, our headcount grew by 10% to 730, in order to ensure we can meet the needs of our expanding client roster.”

“With a number of important new clients coming on board during the past 12 months – the most recent being AXA and ERS – I believe this all goes to demonstrate the credibility we have built in the insurance sector,” he added.

Among the senior appointments announced in 2016 was COO Thomas Reynard. Eighteen internal promotions were also made last year, while three new partners were appointed to increase the total number from 28 to 35 across six offices.

O’Roarke said the company is “building a strong foundation for strategic growth over the years ahead.”

“Whilst there are a number of uncertainties arising from the government’s reform agenda, Horwich Farrelly is re-shaping its strategy to adapt to whatever the future holds,” he said.
