One of the UK’s leading independent insurance brokerages, James Hallam, has swooped to make a significant acquisition within one of its specialist sectors.

The company announced yesterday (February 19) that it had completed a deal to purchase Motor Race Consultants Insurance Services (MRC).

Based in Dorking, the acquired firm was formed back in 1972 by Barry Bland and has worked closely with James Hallam Sport over the last 20 years.

It is closely connected to motorsport through relationships with sponsors, governing bodies, managers and drivers, with Paul Anscombe, CEO of James Hallam, outlining that its portfolio complements its key business areas such as personal accident, on track, team equipment and liability insurance.

“I am really pleased to welcome MRC into our Group,” he said. “The opportunity to expand one of our existing specialist areas is very exciting. It is a sector of business where the broker adds enormous value through sector knowledge and market relationships.”
