Insurance heavyweight Chubb has promoted one of its London-based executives to the new role of vice president and chief underwriting officer of international personal risk services.

The major insurer has appointed Jamie Keaney to the new post as the company continues to expand its international high net worth insurance capabilities.

Keaney will work on driving the profitable growth of Chubb’s global high net worth business outside North America, focusing on the European and Australian markets.

He will still be based in London and will report to John Thompson, chief underwriting officer of international personal lines.

Commenting on the latest appointment, Chubb executive vice president and Europe COO Jalil Rehman vouched for Keaney’s “professionalism and personal commitment.”

“Jamie’s well-deserved promotion will help ensure that we continue to meet the evolving needs of our valued brokers and clients in Europe,” Rehman said.

Keaney has over 20 years of experience in high net worth insurance and has been with Chubb since 2001.

He previously worked as Chubb’s European personal lines underwriting manager and as a Lloyd’s commercial art broker at JLT.
