There has been a major shake-up at Towergate subsidiary Paymentshield with a series of executive changes.

The company has announced that Steve Wood, who joined the firm as CEO back in March 2015, will be leaving the business.

Wood will continue with the group for the next few months but Kay Martin, current commercial director of Towergate, will take over executive responsibility of the subsidiary with immediate effect. In addition, Rob Evans, CFO of Paymentshield, will lead the business on a day to day basis in Southport.

“Steve and his team have done an amazing job in his time at Paymentshield, stabilising the business amidst disruptive speculation throughout 2015 following a difficult trading period for the wider Group,” said David Ross, CEO of Towergate.

“He has led the initiative to secure new carrier relations, reenergised the workforce and reconnected customers with a much loved brand, re-establishing a market leading position. He leaves with our very best wishes and thanks for the work he has done.”

Ross added that the company has primed Paymentshield for future growth and “now is the perfect time to bring the business closer to the centre and benefit from leverage across products and people.”
