Pioneer Underwriters is beefing up its environmental liability team with the appointment of former Chubb executive Maria Rozew as assistant vice president.

Rozew has more than 20 years of experience in environmental liability underwriting. She most recently worked at Chubb as vice president for its southwest region, responsible for the overall environmental risk business unit operations.

“Pioneer has a deserved reputation for offering brokers and clients flexible, creative and expert solutions,” Rozew said. “I look forward to being part of the team as it continues to extend its reach in the environmental liability market.”

In her new role, Rozew will report to Jessica Huhn-Kenzik, vice president of environmental liability at Pioneer’s US underwriting platform, Pioneer Special Risk.

Huhn-Kenzik said Rozew’s track record will be a “perfect fit” to Pioneer, which sees “enormous opportunities” in the environmental liability class of business.

“Maria’s appointment will further build on the significant growth and success the team has delivered since it launched in 2016,” Huhn-Kenzik said.
