The International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation (ICMIF) has published a new report showing the sector’s growing visibility and reputation around the world.

According to the latest ICMIF Global Reputation Report, the visibility of the mutual and cooperative insurance sector worldwide has increased by 11% since 2013.

The report also found that the sector’s association with global influencers and key international issues in insurance has risen by 4.8% and 77.5% respectively.

The sector’s share of voice within high-profile content and conversation has also soared by 93% while references to cooperative and mutual values have rocketed by a whopping 184%.

Net positive sentiment towards the mutual and cooperative insurance sector has also climbed by 60%, the ICMIF report said.

“Understanding how to manage reputation helps us to better identify and engage with the right stakeholders, to communicate our message and values more effectively, and to determine the path to sustained success,” said ICMIF chief executive Shaun Tarbuck.

“The findings of this latest report demonstrate the exciting progress that we are making,” he added.

The Global Reputation Report 2016 is a follow-up to the ICMIF’s original 2013 study, which provided, for the first time, evidence of the quality and strength of the global reputation held by the cooperative and mutual insurance sector.

The ICMIF responded to the findings by devising a strategy based on clear, measurable priorities for further strengthening the sector’s reputation.

The 2016 report measures the progress made against those priorities and identifies the key learnings and challenges for the future reputation of the sector.
