Seventeen Group makes Rupert Burgoyne acquisition

Seventeen Group, the name behind James Hallam Insurance Brokers, Touchstone Underwriting and 4Sight Risk Management, is on the acquisition trail once more – revealing a deal for an insurance brokerage stoday.

The firm has swooped for Haywards Heath based Rupert Burgoyne Limited. The firm was founded by Rupert Burgoyne back in 1994 and it has developed a focus on high net worth private clients and commercial business with gross written premium reported at £2.6 million. Its client split is approximately 70% private and 30% commercial.

According to a release, the firm will be integrated into James Hallam and will take on a new brand – Hallam Burgoyne. It will retain its operations at its existing premises with all staff to remain.

“Seventeen Group is growing both organically and through acquisition,” said Paul Anscombe, chief executive officer of Seventeen Group. “Rupert Burgoyne Limited adds significantly to our private client proposition and expands our presence in the South East. Further significant growth is planned we and continue to see opportunities for us as an independent mid-sized business with a long-term plan.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
