Sompo Canopius has strengthened its accident and health (A&H) team with the appointment of Karen Vizard as international medical expenses underwriter.
In her new role, Vizard will work closely within the wider existing A&H team at Sompo Canopius to tailor products specific to clients’ needs, focusing on the US.
Sompo Canopius noted that there is an increasing demand for quality international healthcare coverage for expatriates and key local staff globally, with demand varying by territory and class.
Vizard, who joins from
Arch Insurance, will report to Bernie de Haldevang, global head of speciality.
“Karen brings an extra dimension to our A&H team, enabling us to focus on some niche areas that we haven’t covered in the past,” said de Haldevang.
“Her expertise, combined with our relationships and profile in the market, will enable us to grow this business with a focus on profitability, rather than volume, over the long term.”
