Will Clark, a prominent figure in the trade credit insurance industry, has joined
Sompo Canopius AG to head its new trade credit insurance team.
Formerly with
AIG, Clark brings with him more than three decades of experience in banking and trade credit insurance. He will be reporting to Bernie de Haldevang, global head of specialty at Sompo Canopius.
Clark will be focusing on establishing a new book, forming part of a global market of some $9 billion of trade credit insurance premium.
Commenting on the development, de Haldevang said, “We have expansion plans for our specialty lines and establishing an experienced team with someone of Will’s calibre as its leader is both a significant commitment and a noteworthy step.”
Meanwhile, Sompo Canopius has made four more hires for its trade credit insurance team: Yvonne McCormack, Scott Morrison, Claire Davenport, and Daina Muceniece. The firm said they have over 60 years’ combined experience in trade credit and trade finance.
