International specialty insurer StarStone has appointed Jeff Herman as global head of its accident and health business.
 
Herman joins StarStone immediately, reporting to Group CUO David Message and US chief executive Norman Brown.
 
Based in New York, Herman will work closely with StarStone’s existing accident and health teams in London and Brussels.

According to StarStone, Herman’s appointment reinforces the company’s commitment to growing its accident and health business, written through global insurance platforms and Lloyd’s Syndicate 1301.
 
Before he was recruited by StarStone, Herman served as global head of accident and health at CV Starr.

“Throughout his career, he has continually exhibited the market knowledge, client service, underwriting discipline and expertise that are the cultural cornerstones of StarStone’s continued success,” said StarStone CEO Demian Smith.
