One of the biggest and most well-known insurance firms in the North West looks set to relocate after news broke that Swinton Insurance is in talks with Ask Real Estate.

According to a Place North West report, the insurer, which has more than 300 branches across the UK, is looking to relocate its Manchester headquarters to 101 Embankment, a new 165,000sq ft office building that is under construction in the Greengate area.

The move could mark a significant expansion for the firm as it is said to be weighing its options between taking up 60,000sq ft of the building, or even taking the entire building.

Currently, Swinton has its primary location in Bridgewater House at 60 Whitworth Street and 6 Great Marlborough Street. However, now consultants WHR Property Consultants have been drafted in to advise the insurer about a potential move with quoting rents at the new building set at £28 per square foot.

The building is due to be complete in October.

The publication reports that all parties declined to comment on the potential move.
