Regional broker The County Group is creating dozens of new jobs as part of its ambitious expansion plans.

The brokerage firm, which has moved to its new headquarters in Crewe, plans to increase its staff by more than 50 people over the next few months, the Stoke Sentinel reported.

The staff expansion includes the creation of five new jobs at JSW Insurance, a broker that is part of The County Group.

JSW Insurance specialises in commercial insurance, but having a team based at The County Group’s headquarters enables the firm to provide a range of insurance products for vehicles, home, contents and travel, according to the Stoke Sentinel.

“We've grown at a good pace over the last 13 years but we remain true to our roots as a traditional broker,” the publication quoted The County Group CEO Dave Clapp as saying.

“Supporting the local area is important to us, which is why our recruitment process will have a special emphasis on attracting apprentices,” he added.

Clapp said the company will provide more than £60 million worth of insurance to its clients in 2016. It also plans to keep growing the branch network by two to three each year.

“All this will create exciting opportunities for people looking to enter the industry,” Clapp told the Stoke Sentinel.

Over the past several months, The County Group scored some acquisitions that include Brady & Jones Insurance Brokers, George Williams Insurance Services and Heath Insurance. The deals have increased the company workforce to more than 200 employees.
