Underwriting agency Horizon, which specialises in high value homes, has appointed Wendy Travers as underwriting director and company board member.

Travers will support the underwriting team as Horizon embarks on the next phase of its development. She takes up her new role on March 01, reporting to company founder and executive chairman Richard Pexton.

“Her expertise and input will be of tremendous benefit as Horizon enters a new phase, challenging convention in order to meet the changing needs of our clients,” Pexton said of their new recruit.

Travers boasts a high level of underwriting experience across a broad range of product lines. She also brings to Horizon a strong high-net-worth pedigree, having held senior management, underwriting and business development roles in this class.

Travers joins from Covea, where she served as Midlands branch manager. She began her career at Lloyd’s and later moved to AXA Art, Fusion Insurance and Sterling Insurance.
