The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) is now a signatory to the Women in Finance Charter.

“We have committed to the Women in Finance Charter as part of our desire to promote gender balance in the insurance broking sector,” said BIBA chief executive Steve White. “The Women in Finance Charter is a joint initiative between HM Treasury and signatories to work together to encourage gender balance across financial services.

“At BIBA we intend to continue to work with a variety of organisations to help our members develop plans to promote gender and all other forms of diversity and inclusion.”

As a signatory, the trade body endeavours to have a senior management team composed of at least 40% female representation. BIBA will also act as advocates for diversity and inclusion with its member firms, designating a senior management team member to be in charge of the matter.

There are now at least 200 signatory firms to the Women in Finance Charter, who collectively employ more than 650,000 people.
