XL Catlin hires Liberty exec for top global claims post

The former global practice leader for energy, construction and marine claims at Liberty International brings over years of experience in the industry

Major player XL Catlin has beefed up its insurance claims team with the appointment of industry veteran Oliver Newick as global practice leader for energy, property and construction claims. 

Based in London, Newick will be responsible for managing a team of practice leaders and will be part of the insurer’s global claims leadership team, according to Anthony Vidovich, XL Catlin’s global head of claims.
 
“We are focused on delivering excellence in claims service, wherever and whenever needed. Oliver shares our vision, motivation and ambition and has the experience to ensure we deliver the globally consistent, but market flexible service that we promise to our clients,” Vidovich said.
 
“This service mission is at the core of our business and similarly reflects Oliver’s approach to claims,” he added.

Newick joins XL Catlin from Liberty International where he recently served as global practice leader for energy, construction and marine claims.
 
With more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Newick has held various claims and loss adjustment roles, serving a wide range of businesses across multiple territories.
