Zurich has appointed Hiscox top regional executive Florence Tondu-Mélique as the new CEO of its business operations in France.
 
In her new post, Tondu-Mélique will be responsible for giving a boost to Zurich’s French unit by strengthening the development of its commercial insurance business for the benefit of clients and brokers.
 
Zurich said Tondu-Mélique will play a key role in achieving its growth and competitiveness objectives in France, which is one of the most important European markets for the company.

Tondu-Mélique’s appointment will take effect in June after gaining regulatory approval. Joining the management team, she will report to Manuel Meier, head of commercial insurance Europe, Middle East and Africa.
 
“Florence is a recognized and respected professional in the market,” Meier said. “With her solid experience, leadership qualities and many successes, she is particularly well suited to direct our well-established business in France.”
 
Tondu-Mélique most recently served as Hiscox’s Europe COO. Before that, she worked for six years at AXA and seven years at McKinsey & Company in practice financial services.
