To many outside the industry, insurance is rarely seen as a ‘giving’ sector – however, plenty of insurers do go above and beyond with their charitable efforts and now one has received the recognition it deserves.

Legal expenses and emergency assistance provider ARAG has scooped the 2017 Payroll Giving Platinum Award from the Charities Aid Foundation, recognising its commitment to charitable causes through payroll giving.

The award is given to firms in which more than 20% of staff are enrolled in the scheme, and recognises the firm’s philanthropic culture. To support the scheme, ARAG matches the first month’s donation for each employee who registers and then adds an extra 10%.

“The Payroll Giving scheme is super simple and provides the best value for money for our staff who wish to donate regularly to a charity of their choice,” commented Ian Screen, Head of HR and Facilities. “We are really proud of our staff who have signed up to the scheme.
It’s important for us to help support their chosen charities and our charity team have done a fantastic job of encouraging donations.”
