Fiducia MGA has appointed former Fusion Insurance marine head Debbie Sudlow as part of underwriting and operations.

Sudlow, who started her career in 1989 as marine trainee at General Accident, managed the Towergate marine cargo and freight liability facilities at Fusion. She also served as marine claims team manager, marine account manager, and business development manager at Aviva

“Debbie is a well-respected and highly motivated professional who is a great addition to the team,” said Fiducia chief executive Gerry Sheehy. “She has a track record for delivering profitable growth and building a regional underwriting infrastructure to support brokers.”

Sheehy added: “Having launched in November 2016 we continue to meet our ambition of recruiting experienced specialists with the aim of broadening the firm’s product base. We will expand further over the next year as we continue to see interest in our product set and capabilities from within the UK but also from Europe.”

The Leeds-based specialist MGA recently opened a Birmingham office and has since launched new marine, terrorism, and engineering products handled by high-profile underwriting teams.
