Matt Clarke’s innovative and customer-centric approach has taken Zurich into new markets, as seen in early engagement and technical integration conversations with the new digital banks. He has forged close working relationships with strategic distribution partners and harnessed his experience and expertise to better align the cross-product communication strategy within the company, resulting in more and better opportunities to speak to customers across various products.

Through Clarke’s efforts, Zurich’s digital distribution footprint has doubled, and there has been a 70% increase in customer conversion and a 56% increase in APE year-on-year for 2015/16. The cross-pollination of best practice across all of Zurich’s verticals has generated opportunities outside of Clarke’s immediate remit, with direct marketing opportunities now being deployed across various channels in the business.

Clarke’s support in building Zurich’s customer journey has received tremendous external feedback: “It is superior to others in terms of technical capacity, customer engagement and ease of purchase, yet does not sacrifice rich underwriting capability. Truly market-leading and innovative.”

Clarke is also an active member of the Zurich Community Trust team and contributes to its fundraising efforts for charities by participating in activities such as the Great North Run.
