Hub International has acquired the assets of the Palm Desert, CA-based Desert Empire Insurance Services (DEI), continuing its string of buyouts for the year.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

DEI is an independent, multi-line insurance brokerage that serves both individuals and businesses. Founded in 1925, the brokerage is the largest locally-owned and operated insurance agency in the Coachella Valley, a release said. The firm specializes in serving niche markets, and has created programs for country clubs, golf clubs, commercial real estate developers, and general and artisan contractors.

Following the acquisition, DEI president Matt Costello and agency principals Paul Lewis and Sal Sandoval will join Hub California. Costello will report to Hub California president Kirk Christ.

“Our clients can continue to rely on our dedication to service that has earned us a reputation of a widely-respected risk management and insurance organization,” commented Costello. “And they’ll gain the added benefits and value from Hub’s focus and willingness to invest in areas that help us deliver the best products and services.”
