The Institutes, an insurance education organization, yesterday announced the launch of a new designation: Associate in Insurance Data Analytics (AIDA).

The organization’s four courses leading to the designation offer an overview of advanced analytics and its relevance to the risk and insurance industry.

According to The Institutes, it created the AIDA designation after it had recognized big data and business technology’s impacts on the industry.

The new designation will help students prepare for innovations in risk and insurance analytic, as well as make data-driven decisions that can significantly affect their organization’s operations.

“As the traditional insurance company business model moves to one driven by analytics, it is increasingly important for companies to build and maintain talented analytical teams,” said Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) president Stephen Lowe.

Lowe also said that The Institutes is collaborating with the CAS to create a technical analytics credential.
