Willis Towers Watson has appointed Ken Smith as market leader for the Corporate Risk and Broking (CRB) Metro D.C. / Chesapeake market.

In his new position, Smith “will be responsible for driving the overall CRB growth strategy, value proposition and talent acquisition efforts across the company’s business in the market, which includes offices in Baltimore, MD; Washington, D.C.; Richmond, VA; and Norfolk, VA,” a release said. He will report to Atlantic South region Corporate Risk and Broking head Doug Pera.

“Ken is an outstanding leader with a great reputation in the Metro D.C. area,” commented Pera. “We’re confident that with his leadership we will continue to grow our business and attract the best talent in the market.”

Smith has 28 years of experience in the industry. He was previously with Marsh USA, where he held a number of leadership roles, most recently as leader of the company’s Cincinnati, Columbus and Louisville operations. Prior to those roles, he held a variety of positions within Marsh’s Washington D.C. and Baltimore market.
