Brit Ltd has appointed Courtney Mocio as vice president for cyber and technology at Brit Global Specialty USA (BGSU). In the role, Mocio will help develop and grow Brit’s US cyber and technology portfolio. She will report to Michael Carr, senior vice president for cyber.

Mocio brings a decade of insurance experience to her new role. Prior to joining BGSU, she worked at Nationwide Insurance Company (Freedom Specialty), where she spent five years writing a book of cyber, technology and professional business. She’s also served as executive underwriter at Hartford Financial Products, where she underwrote cyber, management liability and E&O business.

“Courtney brings with her both excellent technical knowledge and a number of strong relationships within the broking community, which will be invaluable as we grow our existing distribution network,” said Nick Davies, president of Brit Americas.

“This is the latest in a series of excellent hires made by BGSU this year, as we continue to expand our US offering in sustainable and profitable lines where we can leverage our disciplined underwriting approach,” Brit CEO Matthew Wilson said. “Brit is at the forefront of innovation in the cyber insurance sector, and we are excited to welcome Courtney as we continue to expand our portfolio.”
