A former commissioned officer in the US Naval Reserve, Anne Marie Elder knows how to navigate through the depths of ocean marine insurance. She has more than 25 years of property, inland and ocean marine underwriting experience and currently serves as XL Catlin’s Chief Underwriting Officer of Marine insurance in the Americas. She also serves on the Boards of the American Institute of Marine Underwriters and the Water Quality Insurance Syndicate. She is a member of the ISO Emerging Issues Panel. Anne Marie was the past chair of the Inland Marine Underwriters Association’s (IMUA) New England Advisory and is currently a member of the IMUA Transportation Committee, where she was named as Committee Person of the Year in 2014. She also holds the Associate in Marine Insurance Management (AMIM) designation.
Anne Marie is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY, where she earned a commission as a Naval Officer as well as a USCG unlimited tonnage 3
rd Mates License.
