As president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, Monica Lindeen leads the organization’s efforts to establish standards and best practices, conduct peer review, and coordinate regulatory oversight among state insurance commissioners. Lindeen also serves as the securities and insurance commissioner of Montana, where she’s overseen more than $5 million in consumer recoveries last year alone. She’s also worked hard to serve insurance providers – the number of captives domiciled in Montana has increased by more than 500% during her tenure. Her office also has reduced the approval time for new forms from three weeks to one week. Lindeen is also a recipient of the NAIC’s Excellence in Consumer Advocacy Award.
