Acrisure has announced the completion of two major acquisitions that are set to enhance its presence in southern England.

These acquisitions include Financial and Credit Insurance Services Ltd (FinCred) and Global Broking Solutions (GBS), with Acrisure noting that both mark a significant expansion in the region managed by Sutton Winson, which is the firm’s largest UK acquisition to date.

FinCred, headquartered in Sevenoaks, Kent, specialises in credit insurance brokerage and surety bonds. The acquisition is expected to augment Acrisure and Sutton Winson’s capabilities throughout the United Kingdom.

Hannah Lyon-Wall, who took leadership at FinCred in 2016, brings extensive experience from her tenure at Markel International.

“My family and I have known Sutton Winson for years, and when we decided the time was right to sell and become part of a larger organisation, there was only one business we even considered partnering with. We are incredibly specialist in our field and know that Acrisure’s global presence will have a massively beneficial impact on our future growth trajectory,” Lyon-Wall said.

In addition, Acrisure has acquired Global Broking Solutions, enhancing its client base across Kent and East Sussex. This acquisition complements the earlier purchase of FinCred, as Acrisure and Sutton Winson established robust office networks in London, East Sussex, and now Kent.

Mark McIlquham, president of Acrisure UK Retail, expressed enthusiasm about the dual expansion.

“We are excited to continue our expansion in southern England with these two acquisitions, led by the world-class Sutton Winson team. Hannah is a proven leader with a phenomenal track record and a huge future in the industry. We are genuinely delighted to welcome her and the rest of the team onboard,” he said.

Gareth Roberts, managing director of Sutton Winson, also shared his perspective on the acquisitions and what they mean for the companies.

“We are thrilled with the acquisitions of FinCred and GBS, and this is the beginning of something special we are building with Acrisure in the south. Acrisure will continue to support us in acquiring businesses with whom we can culturally align. We now control close to £70mn GWP and expect that figure to surpass £100mn within the next two years through a combination of organic and inorganic growth,” Roberts said.
