Mosaic Insurance has introduced a new professional liability insurance product line specifically tailored for specialist engineers.

The new offering features core professional liability coverage enhanced with additional protections such as pollution coverage, public-relations expenses, and risk mitigation services. The comprehensive suite is designed for engineering specialists across various sectors, including process engineering, chemical, oil and gas, petrochemicals, mining, nuclear and renewable energy, testing, defense, transportation, and environmental services.

Anna Jay (pictured), global head of professional liability at Mosaic, noted: “Specialist engineers have long been a focus for our team, so we are delighted to launch a dedicated product tailored for these professionals and the unique risks they are exposed to. The product combines key coverage with market-leading underwriting and access to our best-in-class claims management team.”

The new suite boasts a global outreach, covering clients worldwide and accommodating risks of all sizes – from large multinationals to individuals working on freelance projects. It offers up to a US$15 million coverage limit and is typically positioned in a primary lead capacity, although excess placements are also considered.

Danny Clack, from Mosaic’s professional liability team, commented: “The experience of having worked in the field of engineering for a decade prior to underwriting insurance has enabled me to understand complex specialist exposures. Similarly, our entire team has built close client relationships to tailor coverage that truly meets this sector’s needs.”

In addition to professional liability, Mosaic underwrites six other lines of specialty business – transactional liability, cyber risk, political risk, political violence, environmental liability, and financial institutions.
