Could ARs become the dominant force in broking? One head thinks we are already on that path

It is inevitable that ARs will become the dominant intermediary, more specifically in the small to medium business area. The entry costs to obtain your own Broking licence is a huge roadblock. The need for compliance, accounting, administration and IT staff is a huge investment that prevents the ability to start up your own business. Let alone being a "proper Broker" being able to access the whole market to find the best solutions for your clients. Insurers want a reasonable amount of support by return from each licence holder.

Connecting with an established licence holder, who can provide all these services and free you up to focus on being a trusted and available adviser to our clients, for a relatively small cost and ideally allowing you to own the client, is the future and we will see it more and more in the future because compliance will not get any easier.
