We have had a $800 compulsory flood insurance levy added to our premium.
Yet, we do not live near a dam, a creek... as per definition of flood and are never going to make any claim. We do live near the sea but a sea surge is not covered by the definition. We have had to build our house above the 150 year flood level anyway.
Why do we have to pay cover for something that does not apply to our particular case?
