Record numbers of financial planners are offering insurance products and commandeering a slice of insurance brokers’ traditional market, according to new research.

    No surprises that planners are re visiting the insurance propostion for their clients considering the investment returns on offer. This is a trend that is also evident in other developed markets such as the UK. Asset protection is paramount!

    There is also a growing trend from Financial Advisers to enter into referral arrangemtns with selected brokers which makes practical sense given the experience and professionalism offered by brokers.

    We know from many years experience, that for an individual to provide Financial Planning, Risk and General Insurance advice can be quite a challenge from a compliance perspective not to mention having to be qualified and experienced in each field to be successful.

    Some Financial Planners have taken the next step by becoming an Authorised Representative and employing a qualfied broker to grow that part of the business. Herein lies the challenge i believe
