A state government is set to overhaul an existing builders warranty scheme, currently underwritten by a market-leading insurer, in favour of an entirely new consumer protection scheme.

I hope if this scheme is successful, the NSW government follows suit as the current HBWS is a difficult process and red tape heavy
    I look forward with interest

currently the scheme in WA seems to work well for most builders , however we dont need more RED tape as this will only increase burden of administration for thr builders.

After being involved heavily in the NSWBW scheme where the underwriters at QBE constantly got their own criteria wrong at detriment to the client, i hope that NSW follows suit.

All states have struggled with it....more probably needs to be looked at from the bhuilders end as to why this type of cover has become so a disater to begin with!
