Company is looking to take jobs out of Australia next year, it has been reported

    It's to boost profitability not efficiency. We all know how efficient QBE's claims service is now it's offshore. Not only is it bad news for Australian staff but for brokers and clients alike. The only people it serves are the shareholders.

    Here we go again, IAG want Aussie clients (as per another Insurer ) to buy their products but will not support the good professional Australian Insurance workforce. Have a good look at how complaints are rife within the claims area of that other insurer who has lost credibility.
    Next they will set up cheaper crash repairers overseas as well
    Maybe Trump apart from many other things , has a point about looking after your own country first.

    If they haven't done it before, they are probably the last major insurer to do so.
    Don't worry what the mission statement says, the only consideration is return to shareholders.

    What surprises me is to get 457 visa workers to Australia, there needs to be a lack of suitably qualified people in a field in Australia yet this can all be circumvented in the electronic world. Heaps of suitably qualified people in Australia to do the jobs but they go offshore to save dollars. Maybe the govt needs to look closer at this. Having worked for a large insurer who offshores, I can guarantee there are no efficiency gains.

    I love offshored workers, especially in the underwriting space - you ask them a question and they give you an acceptance which no local underwriter would sign off on... with it in writing though the insurer signs off on it so you are on your merry way... They will learn one way or another...
