NIBA has issued a warning on certain direct products which it says could end up creating a ‘false economy', and lead to a damaging lack of expert advice.

It's sad that brokers are crying over insurers going direct. Many brokers have established placement facilities and thrown all business into these in favour of lower operating costs and higher commissions.

In return, they have surrendered themselves to a non-advice delivery model across many lines and classes.

It's very rich that brokers are now castigating insurers for going direct, brokers now wanting to play a non-existent advice card. Self inflicted damage.

    Two-faced methinks.

Ping Pong is the game insurers have played when they state they want partnerships with brokers in the areas of business they wish to be in that they cannot service .

Brokers deliver real personal professional service when it comes to policy advice and claims handling.
