Insurance complaints on social media are driving up the cost of insurance, top exec says

It's the direct insurers that are getting hit hard by websites such as productreview because they focus on price and strike rates rather than educating their consumers about the product on offer. If there was more transparency and education to consumers from the outset then consumers wouldn't be quite so frustrated when their claims aren't paid. Insurance is not an every day purchase - it's a binding contract between the insured and the insurer. Making it a quick, easy, simple online purchase, free of any signed paperwork has devalued the concept of insurance entirely.
