Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty (AGCS) has bolstered its Pacific-based crisis management capabilities this week with the appointment of specialist underwriter Shelley Devane.

AGCS confirmed this morning that Devane would be joining the team as a senior underwriter for crisis management in Asia-Pacific, commencing August 20.

“We are delighted to welcome Shelley to join our team as part of our commitment to broaden our product range and to meet the changing needs of our brokers and clients,” CEO Willem van Wyk wrote in a statement.

Based in Sydney, Devane brings a wealth of technical and market knowledge to AGCS which has been gained over a number of years specialising in political violence, terrorism, malicious product tampering and recall insurances.

“Her experience within this segment and emerging risks will undoubtedly complement our suite of liability products currently available within our AGCS Global network and further enhance our market presence,” said van Wyk.

Devane has held several senior roles at other major insurers including stints as head of crisis management for XL Catlin Australia and national manager of crisis management for AIG.
