Bupa has appointed Roger Sharp to its A&NZ executive leadership team as director of corporate affairs.

Sharp initially joined the health insurer as general manager of corporate affairs for its Asia-Pacific business from 2010-2012 and was instrumental in the launch of the Bupa brand in Australia and New Zealand.

Sharp brings to his new role significant strategic communications, public affairs, media and external relations experience across multiple sectors and geographies, as well as a strong track record of building both highly effective teams and corporate reputation, having spent the past decade in roles with the Victorian government’s Department of Health and Human Services, Treasury Wines, and Cadbury. Prior to that, he was an adviser within the British government.

“I am very pleased to welcome Roger Sharp back to Bupa,” said Richard Bowden, CEO of Bupa A&NZ. “He has a strong history of building successful, engaged and positive teams.”

Sharp will commence at Bupa in February.
