Gallagher Bassett (GB) has appointed Ruth Korotcoff as general manager of South Australian workers’ compensation, replacing Shaun Meehan, who took on a new role as general manager of self-insurance for GB.

Korotcoff joins the claims management specialist from Optus, where she was a director, responsible for customer care and technical teams supporting SMB customers. Prior to Optus, she worked in a range of senior workers’ compensation roles for IAG, CGU, and GIO.

Korotcoff also served as a board member for the South Australia Motor Accident Commission for the past 10 years.

“I believe Ruth will be a great fit for GB, and that we will all benefit from her focus in this role,” said Brad Smith, chief operating officer. “Ruth’s significant claims and customer service experience, as well as her leadership capabilities, position her perfectly to come into the role and lead our South Australian operation. I’m genuinely excited to have Ruth onboard.”

GB has been delivering claims services in South Australia since 2012, for ReturnToWorkSA.
