Gallagher’s Australian executive team welcomes new hire

An international insurance brokerage has welcomed a former Willis Towers Watson leader to its Australian executive team.

Katherine Simmonds will join Gallagher Australia as new head of corporate in March, bringing with her an extensive corporate and risk management insurance experience. She will be based in the firm’s North Sydney offices, but will work with teams around Australia.

Simmonds was most recently general manager and head of corporate for risk and broking at Willis Towers Watson. She also held leadership roles at Ironshore Australia and AIG. She holds a law and commerce degree and is an advisory board director for AANZIF.

Simmonds “is obviously highly qualified and comes to us with some terrific experience,” said Sarah Lyons, Gallagher Australia CEO. “However, what really stood out to us was her passion for clients, her growth mindset, and a genuine desire to create a sustainable culture that brings the best out in her team.”
