Claims-management and outsourcing provider Crawford & Company has announced the appointment of Leonardo Semenovitch as country manager to oversee claims operations in Brazil.

Semenovitch will be based in Crawford’s São Paulo office in Brazil, and will be responsible for developing and maintaining local client relationships, overseeing operational activities, and supervising adjusting services. He will report to Roberto McQuattie, regional head of Latin America.

“Leonardo is an extremely well-respected member of the industry, and we are thrilled to have him join our team.” McQuattie said. “His extensive claims and operations management experience will be an invaluable asset for us in the region as we look to continue to provide our customers and their clients with specialist and innovative claims solutions.”

Semenovitch has more than 23 years of insurance and reinsurance industry experience, spanning claims, operations, sales and underwriting. Prior to joining Crawford, he served as CEO of Travelers Seguros Brasil. He has also worked for RSA – Royal & Sun Alliance Seguros and AIG Brasil as head of claims and operations.

Semenovitch holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and a specialisation in insurance business from IBMEC Rio de Janeiro.
