As the tourism industry struggles to recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) has started facilitating a project addressing insurance issues for tourism businesses and is seeking insights from the industry on these issues.

According to Australasian Leisure Management, the project aims to identify the specific issues concerning insurance for tourism businesses in Queensland and across the country. It seeks to identify the challenges faced by all parties, then find potential solutions to improve the financial and operational viability of all businesses involved.

The QTIC seeks insights from all tourism and hospitality business and other stakeholders involved in risk management. It expects to complete the project’s first phase in June 2021.
