With more than 20 years of experience as an engineer and project and design manager in the construction and engineering field, Tim Bugg clearly has an informed grasp of risk. Since joining the insurance industry in 2016, he’s also worked across agriculture, mining, water, oil & gas, desalination, power generation, manufacturing and construction. Today, Bugg helps the Liberty underwriting team, as well as brokers and clients, understand the risks associated with their engineering and construction projects.
“A large part of my job that I get a real kick out of is spending time with our clients – the engineers, the construction managers, the project managers who are delivering the projects,” he says. “It allows us to take the conversation away from deductibles, limits and premiums and really talk about what it is they’re doing. What’s the technology they’re applying? How are they solving those problems? Through understanding all of that, it really helps us prepare for them the best possible PI cover for their project.”
