Canadian Association of Insurance Women names Leslie Campbell as recipient of Rising Star Award

At their AGM in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the Canadian Association of Insurance Women announced Leslie Campbell, CIP, CAIB (Hons) as their very first recipient of the Rising Star Award, sponsored by Steamatic Canada.

Since starting her career in the insurance industry in 2001, Leslie has shown incredible drive and dedication. Beginning at an entry level position with Fraser & Hoyt Insurance, she obtained her CAIB with Honors in 2004. Leslie later moved to Zive Insurance (now Current Insurance) where she held a Commercial Account Manager position. During that time she received the Young Broker of the Year Award from the Insurance Brokers Association of Nova Scotia (2008), and also obtained her CIP designation (2013).  After 12 years with Zive Insurance, Leslie joined Salvatore Insurance in Commercial Accounts in 2014. 

Leslie has been actively involved with the Nova Scotia Insurance Women’s Association (NSIWA), since 2001, in a variety of roles including secretary, 1st and 2nd Vice President, President, and Director.  Leslie has also held a variety of positions on committees for the Nova Scotia Young Broker Network (YBN).

Along with her involvement in the administration roles of YBN and NSIWA, Leslie has been involved with NSIWA’s Cancer Crusade Walk-a-thon, Operation Red Nose, Feed Nova Scotia, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Nova Scotia Cancer Society, and Special Olympics.

The honour is awarded annually to a candidate who is actively employed or closely affiliated with the insurance industry, who shows potential to be an industry leader and person of influence, and has distinguished themselves through their initiative, both within their employment and the insurance industry as a whole.

The CAIW is a national association of insurance professionals.  CAIW focuses on education, networking, and personal development of individuals affiliated with the insurance industry, both directly and indirectly.
