Apollo Insurance Solutions has hired Sharon Bajwa (pictured) to the role of business development manager.

Bajwa brings more than 10 years of insurance industry experience to the role. She most recently served as a strategic account manager at FIRST Insurance Funding of Canada. Prior to that, Bajwa was a sales and marketing specialist with FIRST.

In her new role, Bajwa will become part of Apollo’s Toronto office to focus on supporting brokers in Ontario.

“Sharon has great experience in operations, marketing, finance, and relationship driven initiatives within the insurance industry,” said Apollo CEO Jeff McCann, adding that she is very familiar with the common pain points of brokers, and how Apollo can address those.

“I have worked with MGAs and brokers from coast to coast, and the challenges that the broker channel faces are clear,” Bajwa remarked. “I’m excited that I’m now able to offer them a technology solution that allows them to capitalize on digital opportunities.”

Bajwa’s appointment comes just a month after Apollo Insurance named Justin Hamade as chief technology officer. His leadership and guidance will be crucial to the company as it tackles more complex technology objectives.
