Brokercore – the developer of a broker management system (BMS) – has become the first vendor to achieve Level II certification under the Centre for Study of Insurance Operations’ (CSIO) new Commercial Lines (CL) Certification Program

The CL Certification Program, introduced just last month, has been designed to support and recognize members that have implemented CSIO’s data standards for commercial insurance lines. The program is offered to all CSIO members at no additional cost.

CSIO’s CL Certification Program is comprised of three levels, each representing a milestone in adopting CL data standards:

  • Level I – Foundation
  • Level II – Verified
  • Level III – Certified

To attain certification, Brokercore demonstrated that it had implemented CL data standards and real-time quoting functionality from its BMS for sample contractors’ business.

“Incorporating data standards to improve broker connectivity consistently remains a priority for us and we’re excited with what has been accomplished to reach this level,” said Brokercore director of business development Chris Farris.

“The certification program exists to ensure partners are exchanging data that is uniformly implemented in accordance with the XML standard. Doing so allows for interoperability between systems, and a smoother, frictionless workflow for all parties involved,” commented CSIO president and CEO Catherine Smola.
